THEATRE TRIPS

“Romeo & Juliet” Ballet – Derngate Theatre, Northampton, February 15th. Matinee. Please pay the cost of the coach (£6 per person) when you collect your tickets which are here today for you. The bus will leave the Bus Station by the Market Hall at 1.00pm

“Me and my Girl” – Kilworth House Theatre, 17th June matinee. Please pay for your tickets (£22 per person) by the 9th February at the latest as we have to pay the Theatre for them very shortly after that date.

PS - DON’T FORGET THAT THE COACHES LEAVE AT 6.OOPM TONIGHT FOR “42ND STREET" AT THE LEICESTER ‘CURVE’ THEATRE.

THEATRE GOERS PLEASE NOTE : Although in the past we have accepted bookings for theatre trips by listing names only, with payment by a given date, we feel we cannot use this system any longer. Unfortunately it has greatly increased our workload, since it has meant that we have to spend a number of hours ‘phoning, at least once, those who have not paid for their tickets by the requested date, and this frequently happens again when the coach fare is due.
We do appreciate that members might think there is no urgency in securing tickets in January for a show (say) in December, but please understand that in order to book seats in a prime position, at a vastly reduced group price, we have to reserve and pay for the tickets as soon as booking opens – sometimes as far as a year ahead.
We shall now work on a ‘payment on booking’ system, and this one payment will cover both your theatre ticket and the coach fare. As often as possible we will announce the name and date of new shows in the Newsletter a month before we accept bookings to remind you to bring either cash or your cheque book. For instance, at the meeting on 9th February we shall be advertising and taking bookings for “Twelfth Night” at Tolethorpe Hall Theatre in the evening of July 13th.
Sorry about these alterations, but as you know it is only what theatre box-offices have always done.
