Robert Smyth School

Shown here is the main doorway to Harborough's third Grammar School built in 1909 in Burnmill Road by Leicestershire County Council. Smyth's school amalgamated with the new King Edward VII County Grammar School built to accommodate 150 pupils. For the first time local girls were able to receive a grammar school education. Today, as the Robert Smyth Upper School, it has 1,100 pupils from a wide catchment area. The school was granted Technology College status in 1998.
