ACHIEVEMENTS

The Market Harborough Civic Society’s achievements include:

The commissioning of the Millennium Plaque for Market Harborough which is situated in front of The Old Grammar School

 Assisted in saving Connaught Road Post Office from closure

Successfully fought for the provision of Meadowdale School

Assisted in the formation of Harborough Improvement Team

 Responsible for the production and distribution of the Town Guide

Green Plaque to honour Jack Gardner, boxer, erected in Memorial Gardens



Custodians and conveners of the town Citizenship Cup which is awarded to local residents or organisations as acknowledgement of outstanding contributions to the community. The Cup was donated by H L Moore to mark 1955 as the Diamond Jubilee Year of the Market Harborough Urban District Council and the gift of presentation of this Cup lies with the Civic Society Advisory Panel.
